Order Lepidoptera
(lepido, scale; ptera, wing)
Well known to everyone. More than 11,000 species. Their wings are coated with dust-like scales which come off if touched. Most have a long sucking tongue for feeding on nectar. Some don't feed in the adult form. Butterflies and moths undergo a complete metamorphosis.

Sooz's butterfly and back are works in progress.
