Large, active, beautiful insects. Adults spend a great deal of time on the
wing. The immature stages are aquatic. All stages are predaceous.
Adults are harmless to people; they don't bite or sting. The largest dragonfly
know lived 250 million years ago and had a wingspan of 28 inches (78cm)!
